Many Independent School Districts ISD's cover multiple cities, towns and outlying rural areas. Examples of multi-community ISD's: Lewisville Independent School District LISD includes the city of The Colony TX and many other communities. Oak Point, Hackberry and Lakewood Village are included in the Little Elm Independent School District LEISD.
School District Boundaries Do Not Equal City Boundaries
Always check with the independent school district to determine current boundaries or you may make incorrect assumptions. Here is a prime example using The City of Frisco TX, the Frisco Independent School District FISD, The Town of Little Elm TX, and the Little Elm Independent School District LEISD. Most residents children living in the city of Frisco Texas attend Frisco ISD schools but some attend school in the Little Elm ISD. Likewise, Most residents of the Town of Little Elm attend school in Little Elm ISD but some attend Frisco ISD schools. Both Little Elm ISD and Frisco ISD provide great education, it's just important for home buying parents to know the boundaries before making an offer on a home for sale.
