Every main existing road in the Far North Dallas Suburbs and Outlying Rural Areas has been or will be widened.

New Toll Roads - North Texas Tollway Authority NTTA

New North | South and East | West Artery Roads have been or will be built, jointly funded by communities, the county, Texas DOT and in some cases, the NTTA. Area Residents will be faced with more North Texas Tollway Authority NTTA Toll Roads simply because Texas does not have a State Income Tax so funding comes from future drivers. The NTTA George Bush Freeway and the new NTTA Hwy 121 are prime examples.

Lakewood Village and the Lewisville Lake Corridor Project

Lakewood Village will be significantly impacted by the "currently under construction" 14 mile, $220 Million Dollar Lewisville Lake Corridor Project creating an East | West Artery over the lake connecting Interstate I-35E to the North Dallas Tollway via Eldorado Parkway.

Garza Road was a 2 lane "out of the way" blacktop road that went past the secluded entrance of Lakewood Village and dead ended down the road at the lake. See little map at top of this page. Garza Road is currently being widened into the multi-lane divided road that will connect the new 4 lane NTTA Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge to Eldorado Parkway. The 1.7 mile $122 million dollar Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge LLTB segment is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2009.

Lakewood Village will change from a secluded town to a town next to a much needed new East | West Corridor linking North | South Interstate 35E via Eldorado Parkway through Little Elm and Frisco to the North Dallas Tollway.
