The Heard-Craig House is a beautifully restored historic home located in McKinney's historic district. The home was built by Stephen D. Heard and his wife, Lillie, in 1900. The Heard-Craig House provides tours, events and brown bag art seminars. The Heard-Craig Hall facilities provide community enrichment by offering ballet programs, theatre productions, piano concerts, lectures and art exhibits.

Chestnut Square Historic Village is a collection of seven historic houses and buildings dating from the 1850's. It is the project of the Heritage Guild of Collin County, an all volunteer, non-profit organization, established in 1973.
