The Colony TX 75056 population has topped 40,000 residents in 2009. This family oriented residential community has experienced slow to moderate growth compared to the 2000 US Census figure of 26,531 residents. The Colony Texas residential population will continue slow steady growth through 2015 with an estimated population of 51,000. The Colony build-out (full) residential growth forecast for 2040 is 64,000.

As of this writing, there are three Colony Texas Subdivisions / Master Planned Areas whose growth has impacted the recent population. These are The Tribute; The Cascades and Austin Ranch Apartments / Townhomes.

Because The Colony Texas doesn't have open residential land abundantly available like neighboring Little Elm, Frisco and McKinney, it's Single Family Residential Home growth is much more controlled.

If you look at neighboring Lewisville Texas, much of the recent population growth has been from Townhomes, Zero Lot Line Garden Homes and Apartments. I expect The Colony to have similar residential building as it's available residential zoned land deminishes.

Future growth projections of the area: The Colony / Little Elm / Frisco / McKinney Texas Area real estate market; coupled with local Denton County / State of Texas road expansion and the 121 Highway Toll Road / North Texas Tollway Authority roads will significantly change the past architecture of this community.
